Official launch Mobile Cinema Foundation
The Mobile Cinema Foundation will be launched on 25 March at 20:30 during Amnesty International’s Movies that Matter Film Festival in The Hague. A mobile cinema at Spuiplein will show the documentary ‘The Mobile Cinema’, a film about the work of the Foundation in eastern Congo. Come and join us for this screening!
‘The Mobile Cinema’ premiers at the Movies that Matter Film Festival. The film It’s a film that shows how the Foundation’s mobile cinema project in eastern Congo has generated debate among local communities about sexual violence.
The screening of the documentary ‘The Mobile Cinema’ marks the official launch of the Mobile Cinema Foundation. The MCF’s and the initiators Femke and Ilse van Velzen and Nynke Douma will be present to talk about highlight the work and experiences of of the Foundation with mobile cinemas.
A round table debate will be held on March 27th in the Mercure Hotel in the Hague (Spuiplein). During the round table, the initiators of the Foundation will share with other filmmakers their motivation for using mobile cinemas and the opportunities, challenges and impacts that the tool presents to filmmakers and audiences.
The Movies that Matter festival is an initiative of Amnesty International. During the festival a large number of films will be shown that deal with a variety of topics linked to the promotion of human rights worldwide.
